Although Pat and I live in School Road we were kindly invited to join in the Woodside Avenue Jubilee celebrations on Sunday 5th June from 2pm to 4pm organised by Linda and Jill. Forecast of heavy rain and thunderstorms thankfully did not happen although there was some light rain during the 2 hours. This did not dampen the spirits of anyone. Thanks to Michael and Betty Dix we could shelter under the large marquee they kindly supplied, together with their BBQ which produced hot food throughout the afternoon. The marquee was erected in the dry on the previous day. Virtually everyone from the neighbourhood turned up and contributed with burgers, hot dogs, sausage rolls, pork pies, quiches, pizzas, various cakes and nibbles. So a wonderful selection to choose from. It was wonderful to see everyone of all ages having such a good time. So well done Linda and Jill for the inspiration and organisation.
