WOODSIDE AVENUE
"CORONATION CELEBRATION"
SATURDAY 6TH MAY 2023
Although Pat and I live in School Road we
were kindly invited to join in the Woodside
Avenue Coronation Street Party celebrations on Saturday
6th
May from 3pm to 5pm organised by Linda, Phil and
Jill. Forecast of rain and
possible thunderstorms were forecast. Michael and Betty Dix
came to the rescue offering the use of their
barn if it did rain. Saturday morning the
weather was fine but at noon the decision
was made to take up Michael and Betty's kind
offer. What a sensible decision it was as
the rain started at around 3pm and at one
point the heavens opened with a heavy
downpour. Once again it was so well
organised just like the Jubilee Celebration
(to see that
Click Here). A What's app group
was set up as everyone attending were asked
to supply some food, this way everyone knew
what was being planned so a wonderful selection
to choose from. Sausage rolls, quiche,
variety of sandwiches, cocktail sausages,
coronation chicken, blinis with smoked salmon and
much much more and variety of cakes to make
your mouth water. It was wonderful to see
everyone of all ages having such a good
time. There was pin the crown on the King
and Queen while being blindfold and more
games for the children. So well done once
again Linda, Phil and Jill for the
inspiration and organisation and Michael and
Betty for saving the day by keeping us all
dry. I wonder what this wonderful
neighbourhood will do next I just hope we
get an invite. Here are a few photos taken
by Eric Rhodes and myself.
