WEEK 9...MONDAY 9TH DECEMBER 2024

Another great night of table tennis last night in the Public Hall as the teams played the normal format of 9 singles. The top two teams in the league both lost 5-4 as the gap at the top gets a bit closer but Coastal Crusaders and Counter Hitters still hold onto first and second place respectively.
On table one no player could keep a clean sheet but it was The Terriers who edged home 5-4 against second place Counter Hitters. Graham Keeley and Stephen Hunt both had two wins and Janice Howell chipped in with a win over Tony Trayford. For the Hitters it was two wins each for Paul Waterman and Ian Rix.
On table two The Inlaws had an impressive 5-4 win over top of the table Coastal Crusaders. The Inlaws Stephen Jackson got them off to a good start with a 5 end win over Leigh McDonald. Stephen finished up with two wins as did Paul Barrett and Jim Race had a win over Phil Ball to complete the five points. Leigh won his other two games his support came from Bob Richardson who also had two wins which included a five end win over Stephen in the final game.
On table three it was a 6-3 win for Heacham Knights over Hunnys Heroes. Mick Forth was the only player of the evening who managed to keep a clean sheet with a fine maximum. He had good support from Kevin Saunders two wins and Ollie Loads with one win. For the Heroes it was two wins for Alfie Yarrow and Dad Rob added a win over Ollie.
Next week it is the challenge format.
