WEEK 1...MONDAY 7TH OCTOBER 2024

After 4 weeks of Knock Nights the 2024/5 Heacham Internal Table Tennis League got underway last night and it was a great start to the season with some high class matches and some close results.
On table one it was a welcome return to the league for Hunnys Heroes. It was Alfie Yarrow for the Heroes who led the way with a great maximum and his support came from a win each for Dad Rob and back in the league Kerry Smith. This gave the Heroes a narrow 5-4 win over Coastal Crusaders. For the Crusaders it was 2 wins each for Melissa McDonald and Super Sub Mick Forth.
On table two it was Counter Hitters against The Inlaws which ended up with a 6-3 win for The Hitters. We welcome Finlay Hewson to the league and he started off with a great maximum. His support came from Ian Rix with another maximum. For The Inlaws it was another welcome to the league to Paul Barrett who had a win against Tony Trayford. The two players who run this league so well, Jim Race and Stephen Jackson also had a win each over Tony.
On table three it was The Terriers who narrowly beat Adrian's Allstars 5-4. No player could keep a clean sheet, for the Allstars Trevor Mason top scored with two wins while Mick Minns and Charley Hammond both had a single win each. For The Terriers it was another warm welcome to the league to Stephen Hunt who opened his account with two wins as did Graham Keeley. The final point came from a win by Janice Howell.
Counter Hitters with their six points are the early leaders but there is a long way to go.
Next Monday it is the Challenge Format with six singles and three doubles making up the nine games.
